Exciting news! Kirtan is coming to Hertfordshire as a collaboration between Soraya, Sarah and Louise, who studied sound and kirtan with Nikki Slade, the UK’s #1 western style kirtan leader.
Kirtan is the yoga of sound and a form of meditation that effortlessly quietens the mind and opens the heart to bring us into a state of calmness, bliss, joy and connection.
Absolutely no experience necessary of chanting or yoga and you don’t have to be a great singer. The idea is that we come together as one to repeat simple Sanskrit mantras that create a high vibrational frequency within helping us to heal, gain clarity and rediscover our true Self.

Kirtan is chanting, a yoga of the voice. The practice goes back more than 5000 years and can be practiced by anyone. You do not need to be a good singer, a practitioner of yoga, or a follower of any religion or set of beliefs to experience the power of kirtan. An open mind and your voice are all that is required!
Repeating mantras creates a meditative and uplifted mental state, and helps to melt inhibitions that can suppress our voice and expression. Chanting helps us to let go of our fears and connects or re-connects us to our hearts, and fosters a sense of community and oneness. Some people feel a sense of calm, others a sense of elation.
