Woodland Yoga is delighted to announce a brand-new yoga course focusing on body alignment, the fundamentals of pranayama (breath work), bandhas (internal locks) and drishti (meditative gaze) and aims to give you the confidence to restart your yoga practice or for those brand-new to yoga.

 

Taught by Sandy Culpitt, a retired physiotherapist, these classes will focus on anatomy and the benefits that each pose can offer, taking into account your individual body needs. Each week there will be a different theme and body focus, whilst doing a rounded practice, therefore building up to a greater awareness of what your body needs and your understanding of yoga. 

 

The aim of the course is to provide a gateway into the other classes, workshops and retreats that Woodland Yoga offers so that you feel confident to attend and perhaps more importantly, inspired to continue your yoga practice and draw on its healing, supportive qualities.

 

This eight-week course will take place from 4 June on Tuesday evenings at 18.30-19.45 and is ideal for those brand-new to yoga but also for those wishing to return to yoga after a break or wanting to refine their practice. We are fortunate to be able to offer this course at Heartwood Forest where we can also draw inspiration and wisdom from Nature. If the weather is against us, we will move our practice to Sandridge Village Hall.

The class will be led by Sandy Culpitt who is a retired physiotherapist and experienced yoga teacher who enjoys using her anatomical expertise to allow her students to establish a strong, well aligned asana practice, suited to their body’s individual needs.

 

Sandy is excited to take you on a journey of discovery into yoga and all the life-long benefits it can offer. Her aim is to guide you step by step so that you come away with a solid foundation of the basics of yoga but also a new found passion for this practice that she simply couldn’t live without!
