Woodland Yoga is delighted to offer a beginners class focusing on body alignment, the fundamentals of pranayama (breath work), bandhas (internal locks), key asanas (postures), finding your vinyasa (sun salutation) and aims to give you the confidence to restart your yoga practice or for those brand-new to yoga.

 

These classes will focus on anatomy and the benefits that each pose can offer, taking into account your individual body needs. Each week there will be a different theme and focus, whilst doing a rounded practice, therefore building up to a greater awareness of what your body needs and your understanding of yoga. 

 

The aim of the course is to provide a gateway into the other classes, workshops and retreats that Woodland Yoga offers so that you feel confident to attend and perhaps more importantly, inspired to continue your yoga practice and draw on its healing, supportive qualities.

Next term

Our next term starts 5 November for 7 weeks and here's a brief schedule of what you can expect:


Week 1 – Introducing yoga and the fundamentals of breath work

Week 2 – The core and bandhas

Week 3 – The upper back and creating a heart opening practice

Week 4 – The lower back and finding poses that help release tension

Week 5 – The shoulders and upper limbs and introducing drishti

Week 6 – The lower limb alignment and meditation techniques

Week 7 – Bringing it all together to create confidence in your practice

 

The class will be jointly led by Charlotte Peers who's classes focus on alignment but are accessible and fun. She loves playing a part in her students finding greater openness and space physically and mentally through the practise of yoga, and Louise Neicho (weeks 5-8) founder of Woodland Yoga who loves to share the wider benefits of yoga beyond the physical postures and introduce more people to the transformational magic of yoga.  

 

We are both excited to take you on a journey of discovery into yoga and all the life-long benefits it can offer. Our aim is to guide you step by step so that you come away with a solid foundation of the basics of yoga but also a new found passion for this practice that we simply couldn’t live without!
